Two New MyVegas Games
A busy week for the MyVegas / Playstudios folk, as they unveiled ‘Around The World In 80 Plays’ on the Mobile App, and ‘The Misadventures of Sheerluck Hound’ on the Facebook Version.
The Misadventures of Sheerluck Hound
This is a five reel Slot Game, with icons based on the characters of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes books. (Sheerluck Hound, evil genius Professor Meowiarti, Doctor Wheaten, Miss Adler, pistol, smoking pipe, deerstalker hat, magnifying glass… as well as wild icons and more.
As you collect the ‘Investigate Bonus’ Paw icons, you collect paws in the magnifying glass handle, at the bottom of the reel area. Turn all the 16 paws to gold, and you enter the Bonus Game round.
The Bonus Game is a ‘find the object’ style of game, where you are given a limited amount of time to find six items in the picture, which are ‘hiding in plain sight.’
In the image above, you need to find the six items listed at the bottom of the picture… (dagger, burlap sack, lock, rope, wood pile and shamrock.) (FYI… If you close the game and restart it, the items change.)
If you do not find all the items, you have to collect gold paws again, in order to have a chance to re-play the scene again, with new items.
As you successfully progress through each of these ‘crime scenes’, there are clues, which the characters use to try to solve the ‘crimes’ that nefarious evil genius Meowiarti, has committed.
Once you get through ALL the different scenes, you have to ‘solve’ where Miss Adler is, and when you guess right, there is a Bonus Reward of Chips.
Around The World In 80 Plays
The ‘Around The World In 80 Plays’ Game is a Mobile version of the Facebook Game.
Like the Sheerluck Hound game, it is a ‘find the object’ style of game, where you are given a limited amount of time to find objects in the picture, which are ‘hiding in plain sight.’
The character tiles in this game (not surprisingly) are based on Jules Verne’s “Around the World In 80 Days” with the familiar characters of Mr. Fogg, Passepartout, Detective Fix and Ms. Aouda… and other icons from the ’80 Days’ theme… passports, telescopes, compass, and sextant, as well as Travel icons. Not sure why, but the main character in the game is a lady not in the book.
The premise is to travel around the globe, in 80 days or less. The journey starts (and ends) in England, and goes to destinations in Africa, India, Japan and Spain.
The game starts in the regular spinning reels game, where you collect Bonus Travel icons, representing transportation appropriate for that portion of the journey… boat, train, plane, hot air balloon and (OF COURSE) elephant. #DUH (In the image below, the BOAT BONUS icon can be seen at the bottom left.)
At each of the five destinations, there is a bonus screen, with a “find the mystery objects in the picture” bonus round.
The object is to find six objects from the list, in the quickest amount of time. During the challenge, at the bottom left of the screen, the remaining days count down. You can gauge, depending on how long it takes to find the items, whether you want to keep your results, or retry that leg of the challenge. You also get varying amounts of free spins, based on how quickly you complete the challenge.
It is great that the folks at PlayStudios continue to develop and tweak games and are open to feedback. THAT is a big part of what is making MyVegas continue to thrive, and be successful. (Apart from the rewards, of course)

MyVegas Hidden Object Games
I have stated here previously that I am not a fan of the MyVegas Hidden Object Games, because my brain doesn’t process well that way.
In response to that, we got the following suggestion from a reader, John… and it sounds like an idea that might help folks succeed in MyVegas, so I thought I would pass it along…
“It’s easy to do the hidden object games. Immediately upon the bonus game being revealed, hit Alt – PrtScrn to save the game as a bitmap image on the Windows clipboard. Immediately after that hit the ‘pause’ just under the # of days. Should cost you no more than one day. Then, at your leisure, paste the image into Paint and find all the hidden objects. Memorize the six locations. I like to draw a red oval around each as I find it.
When you have the six locations memorized, Alt-tab back to your web browser, click the ‘pause’ again to reveal the screen. You should be able to click all six items within 3 or 4 counts of the game. My best so far is finishing the last bonus with 62 days left of the 80.”

Around The World In 80 Plays MyVegas Game
Today, the Around The World In 80 Plays MyVegas game became available to play.
The concept seems to be to travel to all five world destinations in under 80 spins of the five reel slot game.
At each of the five destinations, there is a bonus screen, with a “find the objects in the picture” bonus round.
The more objects that are found, in the quickest amount of time, gets more bonus spins.
The character tiles in the game (not surprisingly) seem based on Jules Verne’s “Around the World In 80 Days” with the familiar characters of Mr. Fogg, Passepartout, Detective Fix and Ms. Aouda… although the main character in the game seems to be a woman adventurer, whose name has not yet been revealed.
As stated previously in the Jewels Verne post, I am HOPELESS at finding “images hidden in plain sight” in pictures, and quickly burned through my bonus time, finding only a few items.
For those of you who enjoy playing that kind of bonus round, I wish you the best of luck… but I can’t properly comment on this game, as my brain just doesn’t “see” the things that are right in front of me on the screen, so I can’t really provide any useful commentary about this game, although I DO think it is great that the folks at PlayStudios continue to develop and tweak games and are open to feedback. THAT is a big part of what is making this game continue to thrive, and be successful. (Apart from the rewards, of course)
