A busy week for the MyVegas / Playstudios folk, as they unveiled ‘Around The World In 80 Plays’ on the Mobile App, and ‘The Misadventures of Sheerluck Hound’ on the Facebook Version.
The Misadventures of Sheerluck Hound
This is a five reel Slot Game, with icons based on the characters of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes books. (Sheerluck Hound, evil genius Professor Meowiarti, Doctor Wheaten, Miss Adler, pistol, smoking pipe, deerstalker hat, magnifying glass… as well as wild icons and more.
As you collect the ‘Investigate Bonus’ Paw icons, you collect paws in the magnifying glass handle, at the bottom of the reel area. Turn all the 16 paws to gold, and you enter the Bonus Game round.
The Bonus Game is a ‘find the object’ style of game, where you are given a limited amount of time to find six items in the picture, which are ‘hiding in plain sight.’
In the image above, you need to find the six items listed at the bottom of the picture… (dagger, burlap sack, lock, rope, wood pile and shamrock.) (FYI… If you close the game and restart it, the items change.)
If you do not find all the items, you have to collect gold paws again, in order to have a chance to re-play the scene again, with new items.
As you successfully progress through each of these ‘crime scenes’, there are clues, which the characters use to try to solve the ‘crimes’ that nefarious evil genius Meowiarti, has committed.
Once you get through ALL the different scenes, you have to ‘solve’ where Miss Adler is, and when you guess right, there is a Bonus Reward of Chips.
Around The World In 80 Plays
The ‘Around The World In 80 Plays’ Game is a Mobile version of the Facebook Game.
Like the Sheerluck Hound game, it is a ‘find the object’ style of game, where you are given a limited amount of time to find objects in the picture, which are ‘hiding in plain sight.’
The character tiles in this game (not surprisingly) are based on Jules Verne’s “Around the World In 80 Days” with the familiar characters of Mr. Fogg, Passepartout, Detective Fix and Ms. Aouda… and other icons from the ’80 Days’ theme… passports, telescopes, compass, and sextant, as well as Travel icons. Not sure why, but the main character in the game is a lady not in the book.
The premise is to travel around the globe, in 80 days or less. The journey starts (and ends) in England, and goes to destinations in Africa, India, Japan and Spain.
The game starts in the regular spinning reels game, where you collect Bonus Travel icons, representing transportation appropriate for that portion of the journey… boat, train, plane, hot air balloon and (OF COURSE) elephant. #DUH (In the image below, the BOAT BONUS icon can be seen at the bottom left.)
At each of the five destinations, there is a bonus screen, with a “find the mystery objects in the picture” bonus round.
The object is to find six objects from the list, in the quickest amount of time. During the challenge, at the bottom left of the screen, the remaining days count down. You can gauge, depending on how long it takes to find the items, whether you want to keep your results, or retry that leg of the challenge. You also get varying amounts of free spins, based on how quickly you complete the challenge.
It is great that the folks at PlayStudios continue to develop and tweak games and are open to feedback. THAT is a big part of what is making MyVegas continue to thrive, and be successful. (Apart from the rewards, of course)
Good luck !!!
Play Studios’ new mobile game Bet Rock n’ Roll launched last week on Android and iOS.
This is a new version of the original FB game ‘BetRock’ with an added bonus round.
The folks at MyVegas were disappointed BetRock didn’t include an extra bonus round, when they launched the game, last year on Facebook… so they added one in for the mobile game Bet Rock N’ Roll.
Good luck !!!
The folks at MyVegas added another Slot Game to Facebook MyVegas last weekend. It is Pandarama, and for the next while (until Tuesday, April 8th at midnight) there are Double XP Points when you play it.
Now… to gain access to the game, you either have to either invite three Facebook friends (who aren’t already in your MyVegas friends group) or buy Chips.
Pandarama is played on the Facebook version of MyVegas. It is a five reel Slot Game, with three Bonus Games.
As always with MyVegas Games, the tiles and characters match the theme of the game… and as the Panda’s in this game are crime-fighting superheroes, the tiles are comprised of Pandas, Gator Villains, Crab Robots, Police cars, handcuffs, Polar Bear Chief of Police, money bags and such. You can consult the game’s PAYS table, to find out all the different winning combinations.
Just above the reels, near the top of the Game field, you can see there are three sections: Gator Raid, FreeSpin and Mad Crab.
Each of these Bonus Games is triggered by collecting the appropriate number of winning tiles to add an icon to each of the sections. When you collect three icons in a section, you get to play the Bonus Game associated with that section.
Gator Raid is a Panda, fighting against a bank-robbing Gator. After you press the BATTLE button, whoever captures the other in their “bubble ray”, gets to choose two money bags of Bonus Chips, from those strewn around the crime scene. There are twelve bags of Bonus Chips, and depending on the game you choose to play, there are varying numbers of rounds. At the end of the Bonus, depending on how many rounds you’ve won against the Gator, you can choose whether you want to play a final “All or Nothing” round, or not.. wagering all the Bonus Chips you have collected to that point, against all the Gator collected, in an ALL or NOTHING final game.
The Free Spin Bonus is a bunch of free spins (Not much to explain there) !!!
The Mad Crab Bonus Game is a robotic Crab, “terrorizing the city” that our three Panda heroes have to defeat, pressing the BATTLE button, and collecting Bonus Chips in each turn, until a “Collect” plate comes up, and the Bonus Game comes to an end. (And, of course, your Pandas defeat the robot.)
It is great that the MyVegas folks are continuing to produce new games for the FB Version and add games to the Mobile App… but (for myself) I prefer a faster pace of Bonus Game, and the Gator Raid Bonus Game to me, was (after a few rounds) kinda clunky, and slow. The Mad Crab Bonus Game was better, and similar to the Luxor’s Sphinx-Ray Bonus or Pirate’s Cove’s Caribbean Gold Bonus. But having said that, I don’t know that I am necessarily the Target Market for this kind of game… I personally prefer something faster and more straight-forward like Studio City… and a lot of my friends find that too boring… so great that PlayStudios are continuing to develop and create different games, so there is something for everyone !!!
Good luck !
Over the past few weeks, I’ve had a number of folks post comments, like the one below:
During the #10 my strip bonus.. Star level 2, I am working toward 17 x 4 skillets and have seen many (more then 6 instances) that are not calculating in my total toward the reward. Please evaluate to correct.
Firstly… thanks for taking the time to comment !!!
Secondly… a quick reminder, that our Let The Chips Fall Team isn’t paid by, sponsored by, or in any way affiliated with, MyVegas or Play Studios. We just REALLY like the concept, and like to go to Vegas and get free stuff !!! (And we’re happy to help our readers succeed, in the same way !)
Thirdly… and perhaps most relevant to the topic… you have to remember the PAYLINES.
So, (in the case of the letter writer above) it doesn’t matter that you get 4 skillets showing up, unless they are in one of the above patterns. If they are in another layout, configuration, pattern… (call it what you will) …that doesn’t count towards your Challenge, and you just have to keep on spinning !!!
You can find a table like this on every slot game by clicking through the screens on the PAYS link. (In the image below, it is near the bottom left corner, next to the Loyalty Points Progress Meter.) But mostly, I think it is easier to trust that the Game will keep track, and every so often click on the stars to see how your progress is coming along.
Nothing more frustrating than forgetting you are doing a PLUS Challenge, and you’ve already completed the portion of the task for the Game you are playing !!!
Keep playing and good luck !!!
For those playing MyVegas on Facebook, there is a St. Patrick’s Day Puzzle Bonus !!! (And the MyVegas strip is festooned with shamrocks, green limos and four leaf clovers !!!)
Like previous puzzle games, as you play the Slot Games on the Facebook version, you automatically collect tokens. (Same as previous Bonus Games) The tokens have different St. Patrick’s Day related themes… Leprechaun Hats, Pots ‘o Gold, etc.
When you collect all the tokens in a game, you are awarded a scratch card. During the eleven days of the elven puzzle bonus… (Leprechauns are elves, right?!?) …you get to scratch three cards scratch cards per day. There are Playing Chip rewards and/or multiplier bonuses for each card, depending on the Game Level you have achieved. When you complete and scratch all three cards for each day, there is a Completion Bonus of Loyalty Points !!! (Within the constraints of 24 hours, with the clock ticking over onto the next day using the Las Vegas (PST) timezone.)
Good luck, and happy St. Patrick’s Day !!! #FaithAndBegorrah
